Previous to owning and running Wardrobe Flair since 2005, I was a journalist. Which means I LOVE to write. I want give the average person free and helpful advice with hints about style, colour, fashion and trends.
I am now also the fashion blogger for Wotzon.com http://wotzon.com/diary/Trudi-Bennett/
I am really keen to see a consultant. What are the key things you should look at when choosing a stylist?
A great question. Firstly, look for a consultant or company who is well established and has a lot of experience. Unfortunately there are consultants 'popping up' everywhere who are charging the same amount of money as consultants who have formal training or many years experience.
When you are paying someone a large hourly rate, its imperative they know what they are talking about or you are overpaying and not getting your moneys worth. Read websites well and look for dates the consultant started working in the industry.
Referrals are key. Talk to people and see who has seen a consultant and how they found their service. Look for a service that covers colours and shapes. Some consultants only focus on certain areas and if you are not getting the full package, you will not benefit as much from your experience.
For instance, having your shape assessed is as vital as having your colours done. There is no point in wearing great coloured clothing, if it doesn't suit your shape!
This blog is a wealth of fun, interesting and free information on how to look and dress better. It includes handy hints about colours, body shape information, accessories, putting outfits together, wardrobe clearing and shopping.
I also love to talk about fashion trends, what's in and what is NOT a good look or trend.
I want to be able to share with everyone where to buy fabulous pieces of clothing for certain shapes and colours. Great sales, news about up and coming trends. Who I see, what I see and what Wardrobe Flair is up to.
